Sanders Public Record — interpretation guide

Scope: public-interest research on an elected official, campaign committees,
organizations and official policy. Not a personal-data product or corruption score.
Read records.json meta and each record's limitations before interpreting figures.
Personal income, joint-return income, campaign receipts and nonprofit revenue are
different measures. Do not sum across them or derive exact net worth from ranges.
Do not infer bribery, concealed funding or policy motive from timing or association.
Complaints, settlements, dismissals and closure are distinct procedural outcomes.
Announced proposals and introduced bills are not enacted law. The September 2026
ASI announcement contains a proposed 20-year maximum; full statutory text was not
located. Preserve that scope/status limit and do not universalize it to all AI work.
Financial reports and FEC data have source-use restrictions; consult methodology.
No donor solicitation, credit screening, personal contact data or private profiles.
Career roll calls are attributed to Voteview; 178 official Senate entries were reconciled.
Eight House Speaker elections retain the official named choice in position and the
research encoding in voteviewPosition (SQLite voteview_position). For those entries,
result, yeaCount and nayCount remain raw Voteview fields, not a literal binary vote.
officialChoice / official_choice_json preserves official aggregates, individual-row
counts, raw result, separately verified winner, citations and source-conflict notes.
Not Voting is not a Nay and does not establish the reason for absence. Motion type
matters. Voteview roll numbers differ from official session roll-call numbers.
Source hashes prove receipt identity, not correctness of claims inside documents.

The legislative_* SQLite tables preserve bills/resolutions, sponsor/cosponsor
roles, withdrawals, source snapshots, listed text URLs and actual acquisitions.
5,303 measures cover 2003–2026; 1991–2002, amendments and nominations are absent.
Two cosponsorships were later withdrawn. Five source date flags remain unresolved.
563 measures list no text URL in this source; that is not proof no public text exists.
Only three bill-text versions were acquired; a listed URL is not an acquisition.
This fixed snapshot does not establish that every recent filing appears upstream.
